Hello

I have come across a good domain name I was looking for but I have a question. Is it legal to own a domain name that contains a country name or a company name. Like GoogleInUSA.com USABloggers.com or BloggersInUSA.com ?

What are your thoughts ?

Thanks
sb

Country name ok. Your two examples seem like good names.

The problem is not with the country name but company and/or its brand name, product or service.

If company has a registered trademark, it could be a problem. But as long as you do not host any contents which would bring harm to the company's reputation, its brand name, products or services, its ok to use them.

GoogleInUSA.com - You can register it but make sure you do not put any contents which can defame the company. Google is a very powerful and big company and they are very proactive too.

USABloggers.com - no problems

BloggersInUSA.com - no problems.

Someone had registered a domain googleonline.in and used it for a domain registration website. I came to know about it from a ad. But looks like google came to know and they have taken objection and now that site in not loading anymore. In other words, if you are trying to take advantage of the company's brand name for promoting your products or services, they will never sit idle.

Another example is googlecashcow.com. This site is also not loading.

I hope that helps you mate.
