Hello
I tried to register a domain in name.com.
It Shows me that the domain is available.
godaddy also shows me that the domain is available.

But namecheap.com says that the domain is already taken...

can anyone tell me why it is so???

Thanks

I had been selling and buying domains since 1995 and I have yet to experience the situation
described by sandeepdude. Probably because I had been using the services provided by some of the
best domain registries.

I did a test like this once.

I registered a domain at 1&1, waited 3 hours, and check Goddady.

It said it was available on Goddady even though it was registered on 1&1 already.

If this happens, it means that someone else registered it and the whois database has not been updated yet.

You should get a refund, or purchase credit.

It just means it was recently registered. Something similar to this happened to me today, also. I checked if it was available on GoDaddy, and it was. Then later when I finally got around to registering it, it had been taken! Bummer.

It may be quite possible that when you were looking for a domain, someone else was looking for the same domain. And by the time you checked at the 3rd site, the domain was already registered.

Do a search for that domain again to see if its not registered.

So what exactly the problem is? If the domain is available, then why don't you register it.

Frankly speaking, I did not get the logic of checking a domain name if it is available or not at 3 different registrars.

Actually, name.com shows that its available. but when i tried to register the domain,i get an error message that the transaction has failed.

Also i checked the who.is and it says that the domain is already registered...

how can the same domain be registered by two people?

Would you like to give it a try at my site ruchiedomains.com and then let me know that what message you get?

user should get the same message as godaddy since you are a reseller of godaddy

Dear, he said he is trying it at name.com and getting a problem. So unless he does not tries at any other place, how he can come to some conclusion.

godaddy also shows me that the domain is available.

As I said, since you are a godaddy reseller, one should see same message as godaddy

Again you are not getting me.

I am asking him to try to register that domain from other registrar instead of name.com and then see what message he gets.
