As an experiment, I just changed my DP signature for the first time since I came here (one year ago).

Since I've hit the glass ceiling at "Sacramento Weddings" (#2 non-sponsored), I've decided to use the KW "Karaoke" and "DJs" instead.

Don't worry, I still have several thousand other links that still say "Sacramento Weddings" on all the other boards & portal profiles.

Just wondering what this will do to my other KW's.

DP accounts for about 380 of my 5,611 links (about 8-10% overall)

WOW - I would love hear to how anything is effected.

As would I. Testing is what drives SEO and I've always been curious to know what the value of DP and other forum links has. Sounds like a perfect little experiment, please keep us posted.

It's actually 6.7%... I can't imagine that it would be a huge difference as that is just a part of what gives you that solid ranking. Also, remember that the 6.7% is from essentially the same web site so there is going to be even less of an effect.

Of course, that's just conjecture.

Yeah I don't think it would have much effect. I don't notice much effect from my DP signature links.

Very nice.
I doubt there will be too much of a drop in PR though, as DP couldn't have affected your site that much. Google also looks at content, and DP doesn't have much about weddings.

I change my DP links all the time and I have never seen a site drop after removing the link from here after ample time....I have seen sites index and rank a little faster with the DP an other forum links.

I don't think it will make much difference. Google cannot give that much weight to hundreds of links coming from the same source.

They do sometimes. However, most of his links are probably on old posts, which wouldn't have much if any PR

DP backlinks counts but now days any of the page in dP will have more then 50 outbound links.so, it reduces the quality of the page.
