Value of the expired domain name

I have a few question concerning a domain name I want to backorder. Domain name has PR5 and has more than 5000 of link popularity. My question is - will ussually the PR 5 of the sites drop down after renewing ?
The site has no evidence in archive.org.
Is it worth to backorder through pool.com for 60 USD ?

The PR will drop on the next update. If the links stay there is no reason why it should not get the PR back though.
