Going Rate of College Educated American Writers

I see a lot of article writers from India who charge anywhere from $3 to $8 for a 500 word article. What rate do quality American College Educated article writers usually attain?

I am interested in writing articles if I could receive anywhere near my $20/hour salary.

I'd say that the best way to make those $20/hour would be to make your own blog.
People will be relunctant with those prices :)

It really depends on the quality of writing. Just because you are college educated doesn't always mean you can write engaging content. I have hired a few writers for my publications who are professional writers by trade and I pay them $150-$300 per 500-2000 word articles.
