vB skin, code, uShop, Google AdWords wanted for http://www.Scouts.com

HIGH-TRAFFIC DOMAIN. Considering budget up to $200, more or less; more if convinced it is worth it, less if convinced you can do the job for less. Need 1st class work.

Already have vBulletin 3.07 installed, already have AdWords account.

Skin to have attributes (color scheme, top-level nav) of Scouts.com. By top-level, I like the way the navigation is done at www.ausvisage.com (or .co.au ?), with the typical vB forum links on one line and folders for the rest of the site on another line. CSS is, I believe, appropriate.

Other than that, the Skin to have the functionality of http://www.NamePros.com (uShop, integrated Google AdWords, top/main banner ad). Also want right hand column for three to five 125x125 pixel banners - or a skyscraper.

I have a dozen employees including PHP coders - just too much paying work in house for us to fit in my personal projects right now.

Sorry, no "design by xxx" allowed on the site. You may list in your portfolio, however.

Sout or Scouter? Competitive edge.

Completion time of three weeks or less. Less is preferable.

Payment terms: paid via PayPal. 1/3 down, 1/3 on completion, last 1/3 three weeks after completion and after bugs (if any) addressed.

Do a great job and two additional sites may follow: http://www.WebForging.com (the site for my book on web design, production, programming, hosting and Internet marketing; new primary visual elements have already been created) and http://www.WebLoggers.org (will be looking for a blog expert to advise on content/approach for blog site as well).

Please post and email keith at WebForging.com if interested. Show links to your portfolio / capabilities / testimonials if you have them. Posting this job here and on NamePros where I'm up for March Member of the Month (also listed as WebForging for Member Name there).

Keith

Thanks for your post, TheWebJunkie.

I saw the thread on your skin for sale. I'm looking for something closer to look & feel of Scouts.com (http://www.Scouts.com) with other specs above.

Are you interested in the job? Given the specs above, how much?

Keith

Given my experience with victims of sexual abuse, the last thing I or would encourage anyone else to do is help / do business with... the scouting movement. A significant percentage of child sexual abuse investigations look at this haven for p-files.

No disrespect to you WebForging.. just something someone like me (Social Worker) knows and most people don't.

One of the most important issues - the safety of kids!

One of the things I admire MOST about the Scouting movement: they INSIST on protecting kids.

Scouting REQUIRES two-deep leadership: two adults present at ALL times.

Scouting REQUIRES annual mandatory viewing and discussion about a Child Protection video.

The various Scouting Manuals have a Child Protection booklet inserted in the front; one of the first requirements of any Scout or Leader is to review these materials.

The Scouting movement tackles these issues head on!

Your argument is akin to saying don't go to church because of similar problems; not a far stretch of analogy to say don't drive, 50,000 plus are killed each year doing that.

Forum netiquette would normally dictate not making such remarks in a thread. The remarks are offensive to me personally, and to many devoted youth and adults. My time in Scouting as a kid and as an adult has been remarkably rewarding. I believe in it wholeheartedly and want to accent the positives and help PREVENT negatives, as do millions of others.

Keith
