I asked earlier about .info .us .biz .me and .ws but i forgot to ask about .mobi.

Is .mobi worth buying?

Yes it is. though its use is not widespread as of now...as the focus changes to more mobile communication, dot mobi is set to take centerstage.

If the name is very nice keyword related PHONE, MOBILE
then get it.
But, if not, forget it!

.mobi is useful if you have a compact website and whose primary visitors are mobile users.

Personally, I don't want to pursue that extention anymore. With all the .mobi names I use to own I have either sold them or dropped.

Unless you can buy top notch keywords in the aftermarket for cheap, I wouldn't really suggest trying to go & hand reg brand new names.

mobi is a failed extension, keep in mind that people prefer to type .com from their phones. It's shorter and they know it. Mobi is trash, but it's just my opinion.

I think that .mobi is definitely poised to have the biggest price appreciation out of all of the .com extensions. I have even heard somewhere that Microsoft is reportedly snapping up a lot of .mobi domains.

Where did you hear that? I don't think Microsoft is that stupid, they could easily buy high quality dot coms and save themselves the trouble of a gamble with such a terrible extension.

Mobi? It's shorter to type Com. lol

Not sure if it is true or not but this is where I read it:

If domain name good I suppose that do worth to be bought. And that doesn't matter what extension it might have

I dun think the extension is dead as such..its just that its use is restricted unlike any other gTLD domains..but the Registry is trying quite hard to promote it..

wwll I can say there are available LLL.mobi domains lol also there are a lot of good keywords .mobi dropped...

.mobi never lived up to its expectations. It possible can be a good investment for the future.

That's exactly the way I see it

There was a huge .mobi SEDO auction that showed how this is not an extension that should be brushed aside. As with anything else - if you have a premium .mobi or noticed one that's available, go for it...otherwise, don't bother.

.mobi appears to be falling apart... 2 years after landrush (.mobi's had to be registered for 2 years) a massive amount of domainers let almost all their .mobi's go! Why? Because unlike when the tld was first thought up (2002-2003) and launched (2006) people are starting to realize that we don't need a separate mobile domain extension thanks to really powerful mobile web browsing technology helping us view regular web content on our mobiles (you can thank the apple iphone for sparking this breakthrough). Google for "Google mobile" and you'll go to google.com/mobile not google.mobi, facebook uses m.facebook.com not facebook.mobi... I guess what I'm saying is why would people want to brand a 2nd version of their website for mobile users when they can keep branding their .com site and easily detect a mobile browser and forward them to a mobile optimized sub-domain.

If you buy .mobi as an investment, it is worthy .
.Mobi is not popular nowaday .
You have good chance to grab the short dictionary word as domain. Good luck.

Yea..there are many promotions for .mobi..many registrars give the MOBI site builder free with ever .mobi Domain name.. I guess the registry gives it free with the Domain.. not sure though

.mobi, .cc, or .me ? i kind of like the .me since its only 2 letters and is a word but not sure what other people would rather type
