This will be a kick. A new site Ratraceterminator needs a logo, mascot whatever. Something I will be able to develop a brand around.
The site is in the work at home business niche, not an MLM gig. I will put this contest out for a 2 week period to start. So initially Feb 13th. I have full intentions of buying a logo. That being said I may have to extend it if I havent found what I am lookng for. My last contest closes Monday and I had some really talented designer participate. So have fun, show me the super hero rat race terminator.

I'm just curious... maybe a little more information would help as far as what you are looking for? Becuase I'm not exactly sure what a "Super Hero Rat Race Terminator" looks like?

Cameo-great point. I am at a total loss for what a rat race terminator looks like. When I bought the domain name I keep seeing old school Aaaanold in his blockbusters. probably not what will work but who knows. i will have to research some stuff also. Rat race, how the heck does that pertain to business anyway. More like hamsters on a wheel. I cant even visualize a decent chop for business. This will be a kick.

My concept is not to focus on making a Rat as a mascot - that's ridiculous. Having a Rat as a mascot for an exterminator? "Rat Race".. my concept is "rat race" to be surrounded by freeways to symbolize the rat race of everyday...

Hahaha I kinda like the idea of having a rat for a mascot for an exterminator's site. That's awesome lol. It's like the chicken mascots for fried chicken restaurants... just cruel and fun at the same time :) However, I'm not sure exactly WHAT kind of business we're designing for. Home based businesses could be just about anything?

hey Cameo-great point. Ratrace terminator is primarily an internet marketing venue that uses some high commission direct sale products in the personal development niche.
What we re good at is getting people free from there jobs by income replacement via internet marketing, hence the rat race terminator name.
hey render-good to see you participating. funny piece. not what I am looking for though as we are terminating jobs ie rat race. I know I am not helping you guys out much with conceptual idea but I am at a loss. That is one reson I need the creative pros to do this.

here's a quick concept sketch... hopefully it captures the "superhero" and "shedding one's former corporate identity" ideas at the same time.

Okay so he's eliminating jobs... I know how MLM people love the guy working in his underwear deal so that probably shouldnt' be used... but if you don't have to work, you might find yourself enjoying more vacations or taking up more hobbies (or just spending more time on one you already have) or chilling in general. So this guy who is helping you to do that, to be free, might look cool if he reminded you in some way of that... maybe a tropical twist or a more casual look for the guy. Here are some thoughts just to get my fellow artists' minds going. I'm still thinking about what I'm going to do :)

Hi
Here is my idea and my pitch for the rat race terminator. I focused mostly on the character idea. Of course when you hear rat race , you think of a rat. But it is also about being stuck at that dead end job living pay check to pay check! This I related to business man. And then the terminator, you think of Arnold in the movie. So my mascot is a rat, business man, terminator combination.
During the day he is the poor schmuck stuck at the office with hopes of some day moving up the company ladder, But he is stuck in his position by the executives and the bureaucracy of the company, hating his job and hoping that he will not be laid off! So at night he seeks to become independent and free from the endless rat race by becoming the Rat Race terminator!
I can make it any size or make any revisions you might want to see. Here it is on a black and white back ground.

Lefty: nice job on the rat. I only just now noticed he was shedding his suit and tie. That's a nice addition! Very cool
Okay here's my first shot here. ;) It's Captain Freedom!
He's basically a freed Genie (I'm working on his broken lamp - I am actually thinking it may in some way resemble a suitcase as if he's finally been freed from the job that's held him prisoner for all those years). Anyhow I really had a good time iwth this. It was all fun for me :) I'll see if you like it before I play with it anymore.
Captain Freedom - He will free you to be you!
He'll make your all your wishes come true!
LOL. ;)

Great stuff, looks like we are tracking ok. Conceptually you guys have got the idea. ratraceterminator is the mascot that eliminates jobs. The super hero for those that want to get way from driving a desk to driving the car of their dreams, fire their boss and live a life of planned prosperity on there own terms. Get up when your body is ready intead of when the alarm fires off. A few great visual ideas have been posted from you already. from office suit to beach bum etc. The always popular elimination of the alarm clock could work also. Great stuff so far.
FEEDBACK
A4H-I love it conceptually. The rat/man is to serious for me though. I think the RRterminator is happy, smirky maybe laughing in the face of the day to day world of coporate job life. The type something different but I cant pin specifics yet as I am brain dead-sorry.
cameo-great stuff also! Fuuuunny.I like your idea hits pretty much on the nose. The genie theme goes well with "the Secret" but.....for me the only part that doesnt work as well as I would like is the genie part of him. The reason is, one of the things I point out in the secret are the two missing components one of them being that the "universe" is not a genie to serve us. I come from a Christian perspective so believe that God is the one who plants those dreams/desires we have and also gives us the necessary gifts/tools to accomplish those. It may be a subtle difference to some but not to others. So there you have it. Very nice ideed.
thanks for all of the entries so far, this is a kick. let me know f you have further quesstions or need beter feedback.

Hmmm... i'll have to think about my concept a little bit then. I personally agree with you and your perspective and it hadn't really crossed my mind to think of it that way.
My thoughts were: He WAS a genie trapped in a lamp but he has since broken free and wants to show you how he did it... rather than him serving you as if he still were under the control of his... whatever it is that binds genies to their lamps. But still that might not play well with the religions mindset since everyone sees things differently.

zyntdal-this is pretty cool. I have no idea what we are goingto end up with as there has not been the participation i thought ther would be..this is clean and nicly done. What I am having problems with is the same as everyone, making the jump of terminating the rat race. I am opento ideas. It doesnt have to be a mascot or super hero even. A sunset with a shilloette of a kid and dad with fishnig poles..anything that can get us in the mode of "no job" and done in a visual way.
