Which do you think are more important? And please don't say both.:-) I have had good luck with oneway links and am now thinking of giving the banklinks a stab on a few of my sites. How do you guys install your backlinks and the best way of getting them?

Thanks,
GD

I think you actually mean 'reciprocal links or oneway links'. Backlinks refers to any links to your website, regardless if they are reciprocal or one-way. These days reciprocal linking is gradually dying. It is just gotten too difficult to find effective link exchange partners. I used to do a lot of link exchanges, but now I have pretty much stopped that strategy as it has become a big waste of time. I suggest you concentrate mostly on one-way links as those will help you the most.

Reciprocal linking has the benefit of being a much easier way to get a backlink to your site, therefore you can jumpstart your backlink collection with a number of reciprocal links. It can also be the result of linkbaiting or naturally having external links from your site, both of which is necessary. One-way ones will always be a stronger vote of confidence, but you shouldn't pass up the opportunity for a few good reciprocal links.

No reciprocal links are not much easier. These days it is very tough to find good link exchanges. A new website would have no chance of succeeding by relying on link exchanges at the beginning. A new website with no PR is even less likely to be able to find good link exchanges. Sorry but one-way links are the way to go.

what is one way link?

It is when you post your link on another site. Forum post, article post, blog post, etc. And a backlink is when you put their link on your site.

One-way any day of the week. Getting strong one-way links along with your required anchor text is probably the first step to a strong SEO campaign.

One ways on a related authority site are best but also toughest to get. If you can work out recips where the link is on a related site, within content and the page the link is on is optimized for your keyword anchor text then they can work very well.

The problem is so many webmasters are so lazy they do not want to do these types of recips, they just want to exchange on a crowed links page which is sort of worthless...

The most important thing is what site the link is located. One way link is good in general. But back way link with a highly rated site is awesome.

what is one way link?

One way link is a link pointing to your site without the need of linking back..
