hello dp'ers i'm not sure if this is the right place to post as it is both a link question and google question.

I received an email from somebody want to link exchange with my site getlaidny.com here's a copy of it...

Hello,

<quote>My name is Samantha Tatcher and I represent the dating sites HornyMatches.com and SexDatePersonals.com.

We took a look at your site recently and we are interested in a link exchange.

Our web site has a pagerank 4, and we receive thousands of visitors looking for other web sites of their interest. It is a great opportunity for both and we hope you think on the link exchange.

Our offer is (ABC link), a 3 way link as opposed to a reciprocal link. You link to http://hornymatches.com/ and we link to you on http://sexdatepersonals.com/linkex/. We offer the best type of link exchange and hard link too.

Also, http://sexdatepersonals.com/linkex/ has a very nice directory where you could choose the category that you would like to be.

Last thing is we would like the link to look like this:
1.Tittle [Free Adult Personals]
2.URL [www.hornymatches.com]
3. Description [Free Adult Personals]

--or--

This is the code:
Free Adult Personals

Finally if you have any questions, do not hesitate to get back to me, I am here to help.

Have a great day and we hope to do a good deal with your site(s),

Best regards,</quote>

This is my first ever request to link exchange is this a good website to link with? and if i do link exchange, what are the procedures for me to do this?

I received this email a couple hours ago and would like some suggestions please.even criticisms i don't care.just advice.

thanks

Delete this link exchange request and probably any others you receive. Gone are the days when you get e-mails requesting link exchanges that actually help your website too. This guy wants a good link back to his main website in exchange for a poor link from his junk website. It is too difficult to find good link exchanges these days. Concentrate on building one-way links instead. You'll waste less time and produce better results.

Well, I wouldn't write it off immediate - if they are a very established site and can generate traffic for you, that might be beneficial. It probably won't hurt your SEO it just won't help it that much.

However, if they don't look like they'll help you much in terms of reputation and traffic then just ignore it.

ok.my gut is telling me to ignore it as well.i googled hornymatches and found a couple of blogs about it being a scam site and all that.i don't want to deal with illegal stuff.

thanks for advice.

99 times out of a hundred these unsolicited link exchange requests are from spam seo companies who provide lousy backlinks. Either that or it is from a brand new website who's backlinks don't help either. Either way you are unlikely to receive any decent link exchange request e-mails. Since it takes so much time to weed out all the junk link exchange requests, it is often easier to just ignore them all. Then use the time you would've spent on that on building quality one way links instead.

Sometimes they found a unique way of marketing their site through link-exchange requests, sent to even those who dont have any websites :)

Here is something for you: http://www.seomoz.org/article/beginners-guide-to-search-engine-optimization ;)

I would refuse any link exchange request. Reciprocal link exchange is something from the past.
One way backlinks is the way to go in 2009. Much better results and less trouble.

kindly start working on your website on your basis........check the other website about its PR its functionality and visitors........

then make your decision.........also a note to you: everyday check the links coming from that website or not ........make sure the link is kept on the webpage which has a good PR and do not have "nofollow" link.....

These three ways are a joke. The other kind of three way can be fun and exciting!
Anyway, when you look at the details of these three way links I have not found one yet that makes any sense for my site, but it is usually great for the other site.
Vansterdam has it absolutely correct. Pitch it! Generally they are just "link to me from your good/great web site and I will link to you from my piece of crap website." Huh? I am really surprised if anyone would do this but I suppose there are sites that fall for it. Don't waste your time. It ain't worth it!

hi,

Exchange links is good but it all depends on his/her theme if it is relevant to your sites. There are many factors that we should consider to commit EL with someone.

I dont know why people waste time sending mails ..... i mean its better to rewrite an article and submit to few article sites.
