It seems people are uploading Docs to scribd for getting backlinks but I am sure Scribd is smart enough to cloak pages, serving link less versions to Google and showing with links version to visitors.
Or is that anything else?

Scribd doesn't directly link to webpages anymore, as you said they cloak their links now so its pretty much useless.

I myself uploaded docs with links but when I look them in scribd document viewver (IPAPER) links work but when I try in Google cache they dont, infact there is no link.
So whats that cloak or ?

FYI I just found one such document on scribd:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/3975861/Offshore-Outsourcing-Web-Promotions-SEO-Services
Try looking in Google cahce, you will find a flat file with Google AdSense appearing over document (no adsesne in original version)
Also what is the meaning of having AdSense on Google cache versions? Strange

as for me the adsense ads from its document is solely what scribd serve to every document uploaded on their system and not related to any adsense hijacking anymore. find out how their tos which is applied to all of their publisher, hope it will help better.
