a few important questions about domains

Hello. yes i know there are alot of threads about .info's here but these are some specific questions that i need answers to. All members/webmasters/mods, who have knowledge on the subject are please requested to answer these.

Questions:

1.) are .info domains worth it in terms of seo?

2.) will they ever be as good as a .com in terms of their ranking. For instance, a search result on almost all search engines results in the first 10 results being .coms in general. So if .info's dont rank well...then whats the point?

3.) I talked to a few of my friends who run web solutions companies and asked for their advise on the topic. They all had just one thing to say: there will always be issues about credibility and about the sandbox. If so, then why?

4.) Why is a .info less creditable as compared to a .com? I read it somewhere on the Internet that google has been doing its research and for some reason tends to equate a .info to spam. Yes i know its a very common type of domain that is used for spam, but then again there are good sites as well.

5.) What is the value of a direct keyword hyphenated domain? for instance, how different are www.word.com, w-ord.com, wo-rd.com, wor-d.com in their value and optimization potential?

I'll be glad if you guys could give me an answer. I am an upcoming webmaster(atleast thats what i like to think :D) and i believe this information will be absolutely vital.

thanks for your reply. See the basic thing is, if you search for word, w-ord,wo-rd and the likes, the results on google are still the same. So basically, if you have a great keyword hyphenated domain, i think good traffic can be expected cause essentially the spiders read it as the same word(atleast thats what i have been able to figure out so far). Thanks for the inputs.
