In my opinion, that is not a reasonable target. You will not reach PR7 just plugging away on your own. You could invest money, but it would take a lot of money to reach PR7 and you would have to be careful to avoid getting penalized for buying links.
Why are you so concerned with reaching PR7 though? You should be more concerned with traffic and rankings. A high PR is only good for selling ad space.

Getting PR7 is not an easy task and won't help you if you have little backlinks. The large number of do-follow backlinks from sites with relevant content to your site wins over pagerank when it comes to ranking in SERP.

I have never seen anyone go from a PR1 to a PR7, even plc/ corporate sites. The biggest leap I have ever seen was a pr1 to pr5 but that was for a large site that had lots and i mean lots of backlinks to the parent companies websites.
thats a hard target, why is it pr7 ? and not pr5 or 6?

To get a PR7 you should have atleast 10 PR8 + 10 PR7 + 10 PR6 backlinks :D

It's not that fast as what you think. there's a step by step process in this thing. As far as I know, most of the blogs that has Pr7, got their quality backlinks from buying relevant links from different sites. Just be patient in waiting for your results.

You'll need to invest a lot of time to build backlinks, and money if you wish. It's hard to get to PR7. Just do it all naturally and take your time ;)

A forum i had sold (2 years old) this past Nov. was at PR3 for 6 month's and on page 1 on 4 search engines for certain keywords. With lot's of link building you can get great search engine traffic as time moves on. Getting great search engine traffic does not happen over-night so be patient and keep on link building. PR is just a number and not many people care about it anyways. (I don't)
Hey, if you have ton's of money to throw away... getting a PR7 could be possible in 12 months. (But i'm prolly wrong on this anyways)

I see you are targeting something that might frustrate you cause it's hard to achieve. As for you want to hire someone or a company, make sure they will do the strategies more on developing unique and valuable contents for your site.

A PR7 just seems unreasonable to me. I'm sure that there are some people here that have PR7 site but even then I could probably count them on my hand. Just work on getting quality traffic to your site.

search engine ranking doesn't work that way. About a year back, I have a pr2 site with only wordpress "hello world" post.
why don't you focus with your website traffic, write a quality content and give benefits to internet community.

You need to go viral, usual link building won't get you above PR6 buying links might for a while but you really need to have something that people will link to your website for ;)

Its not a big deal to go from pr0 to pr7 - all you need is ONE good pr8 or pr9 link.

It won't be easy to get to PR7.Make sure you have ONLY quality content on your website. You should hire a experienced SEO expert. The most important aspect is link building.

If you are cash rich as what is seen as your avatar, PR7 seems to be easily achieved for you.

@ OP: You should tweak your site for search engines, and the traffic will follow. As someone said earlier, PR is good for selling links, and site itself. Quality traffic can come without having a good PR too.

don't worry about PR worry about your content, if you have really unique content your PR will follow. Someone posted here earlier about their new blog post hitting PR 5 all because it was a unique article and everyone started to link to it creating tons of backlinks.

1. Dont worry about PR - it happens whne your site is good and people link to it
2. A PR 7 site would take a lot of $$$$ to buy if you wanted to Buy links- and it would be ongoing monthly
3. Traffic should be the goal on PR

PR7 is very hard to obtain. You should have thousands of high PR backlinks.
I think it will cost you at least 3.000$.

Even with that budget you may never reach a PR 7 - that is a very high PR for a small/medium company.

My advice would be to post less and read more. You need to learn about the true relationship between page rank and se rankings (none)

IMO buy the on-way link cant get PR7 as the most links are not related. If you are the expert in some field and write lots of articles that trackbacked in the internet, that your site would be pr7.

I agree with you. If TS need get good SERP why focus on PR? that is not ONLY factor to appear on SE first place.

Jumping from PR1 to PR7 will take lots of time and effort... You need to gain as many backlinks as you can.

With the usual phase of posting about 3-5 articles(very informative and targeted) and submitting them to multiple social bookmarking websites and working on building site reviews, site submissions and article drectory submissions, doing this constantly for a period of 4-5 years may get you to PR 5 and after that it all depends on how you would market yourself and buy links from top sites from your niche.
Hope this helps and gives you an understanding over how tough and time consuming and informative maintaining a site/blog is.
