I last registered a domain with GoDaddy about 4 months ago, it cost me $6 (around £3.50)
However, I just went to register two .com domains, and it seems now that GoDaddy has created a GBP currency site, the domains have risen quite sharply.
It would cost me £13.80 ($20) for a .com domain - for one year, with private registration.
Is this because of the 'economic turmoil' or merely us British being ripped off again?
Regards

I think this is right. £6.83 for the domain and the rest for private reg?

I own a lot of domain-names there, but haven't bought one for about 3 months. I think I last paid about £9.50 for a dot-com with private registration. and the difference between that and today's price seems to be accounted for by the change in currency-rates over the last few months, during which the pound has really declined really dramatically against the dollar.

It's just the exchange-rates, I'm pretty sure. And possibly a very small price-increase.

PS: you do know that if you buy 5 domains at once, you get a year's free private registration with each one?

why don't you just use Godaddy US? If not try name.com

For cheaper domain registrations (and free Whois Guard) you would be more satisfied with name.com or namecheap.com. Just a suggestion to opt for these two registrars.

The currency display does not affect the price, it is just converted from the US price.
You can set the type of currency to display at the top of the screen.

Thanks for all the replies.
Does anyone have any coupons?
Also, I would use namecheap etc, but I have all my domains with GoDaddy, and would rather stick with them.

ITs the english being ripped of again, use a coupon etc etc. (the exchange rate has dropped significantly too to the point where $100 is like 75+ Pound)

Do be honest try 123-reg they tend to be a little cheaper than godaddy nowadays or atleast they were
