I am guessing if you backorder a name and someone else does too. It will be the person on the same registar as the name that gets it.

I think there is very less chance to grab a domain name by backordering, however you may try out using few services like SnapNames, NameJet and Pool.

backorder is that you make for a domain which is already in use. You can get it ONLY if the domain expires and the current owner does not renew it. If the current owner do not renew it, then they will give it to the person who did back order first. It is almost impossible to get any good domain by backorder.
PS. Correct me if im wrong.

On Godaddy it won't even let you backorder the name sometimes, does that mean someone else already did?
