Tell me what you think.
I think my slogan is great.
I try to write the best content possible for my website.

I like it.
I would use another color for the slogan (it is nice) more blueish, like the rest of the site
and can you center it?

I like it but the blue is really bright for me.

I agree with thehustler I think that blue is too bright you should use a different
shade of blue and add some graphics to the page.

is that an old-style hit counter that you have on top of the google ads?
cowsgonemadd3
Dec 10th 2008, 5:14 pm
Well it is not on top of any ads in IE or Firefox for me. But yes I do have a counter. Should I make it invisible?
I can make it invisible if that helps. I toned down the blue color to a duller blue.
I might can center the banner and the banner is really temp until I can make or get someone to make me a nice new one.

Just wanted to show you what it looks like on my screen...

I'm no expert, but I would move the google ads from the top, and put them in between some of your posts... Just an idea..

Yeah I agree with tarponkeith. I suggest to put google ads somewhere at the right side not on Top. Instead add a banner on top. Well just a suggestion. Thanks!

Actually the higher the ads the better CTR you should get. Or that was what I was told.
Wait a moment....My banner is not showing.
Something must be wrong with your computer. It loads in IE and Firefox for me.

It's brand new; I bought this machine from Best Buy 12 days ago.

Weird...
Not like broken but something is not set up right. You should see something like this if you are using IE(adblock is on my firefox)

Then what would make you want to stay? I put a lot of work into writing those posts, they are not just the usual and you can't tell that unless you read one or more.

It's a good start. Make the hit counter invisible though. Also, put a Title on the page. You don't seem to have anything in your <title></title> tags.

tone down the blue, earth tones are more attractive and comfortable.
cowsgonemadd3
Dec 11th 2008, 11:52 am
Okay I will add something to my title and I am going to keep my blue color.
I will also make the counter invisible when I get the chance.
So what else can I do to make people want to come to my site?

instead of that counter, why not check out google analytics? it provides a lot more statistics than any other free hit counter service that i've used...
also, your content may be golden, but if your design sucks then you'll lose a lot of traffic right off the bat. try working on that header to make it something more professional... if you're not sure what a good header for your niche should look like, google related sites and check out what their logos look like...

I use both. Statcounter provides up to date info while google takes a while longer and is not as accurate.
I agree blue is bright
I tamed the blue down....
Blue is fine, http://www.shoemoney.com uses it.

I like it, maybe make it a little more visually appealing. It is hard as some much competition, try to make it unique.

Header needs work... looks a little cheap and the counter is odd out of place. On the other hand I like your Idea, everyone wants to make money but some controversy (especially in the beginning) to spice up your posts could create more user interaction an desire to read.
cowsgonemadd3
Dec 12th 2008, 2:14 pm
Yeah the header is a bit cheap. I might make a new better one or pay someone. If someone wants to make me a nice one I have 5 bucks to offer haha.
What else can I do to really make my site stand out? Any features you know of that would help?

For a website both design and content are important that leads to huge traffic.I think you had posted excellent article that will be useful for everyone.I had bookmarked and going to make use of it.You can make some reasonable design which should impress visitors on their first sight. It would be really nice if you take a note on this.thank you.

Couple quick comments :)
Change your email address. Should be yourname@yoursite - if you want to, set up your site email with gmail (love gmail). Lose the "Advertise On This Blog" - looks cheap and tacky. The feedburner stuff on top right isn't marked clearly - why do you want my email address??? (yes, it's for the feed, but THEY don't know that).
Looks pretty good other than that ---- one thing tho .... as cute as your 'slogan' is to you, many people will simply missed the witticism so keep it to a minimum - you really 'knead' to ....

Well I am keeping my slogan. It is honestly very good and I have had people tell me that.
I don't want to monitor another email inbox.
I would like to add some info on the feedburner email. I will try and see what I can do.

setup the new email account in the site's name @gmail as suggested, then forward that account to your main email account; that way you get the best of both worlds. I would work on the logo/banner, there's lots of great tutorials out there showing how to make a great looking text logo in 5 mins using photoshop; feel free to pm me if you want specific links. You have good original content however, nothing stands out. I would try developing the ideas a little more, go in depth about each step a little bit more instead of giving a quick basic rundown. My last comment, shorten up the link names a little bit so they don't take up three lines in the blog; i.e. where you direct readers to check out our post about monetizing you give a monster link, instead change it to something like 'www.yeastmoney.com/affiliates' or 'www.yeastmoney.com/affiliate_programs'. All in all a pretty nice site.
