View Full Version : will .htaccess file work with subdomains?

Hi I had a subdomain with 50webs, and I just got a domain name. I would like my subdomain to redirect to my new domain, but I don't think it will work with a subdomain. Would it be possible to do with .htaccess file?

i think .htaccess will work with subdomains.

Depending on your host (if they allow htaccess). If they do yes. htaccess can work from any directory I believe?
Anyway I have subdomains of main sites i.e. sales.qwerty.com and htaccess functions the same as a root domain...if that's what your asking.

well i just found out that 50 webs doesn't allow htaccess with free accounts. I also found out that I can't use a javascript code to redirect traffic to a domain that's not hosted by 50webs either as it it goes against their TOS. what a joke

Can you do a meta refresh or redirect? It doesn't use javascript.
