A person I know recently told me I should test PPC campaigns at low cost on Google, find good keywords, then move the campaign to YPN and spend slightly more. Apparently this increases conversions.

Anyone else heard that? What are your ppc strategies?

no one will actually tell you the strategies (if they are working well) and as far as the conversions ratio on Yahoo is concerned, it totally depends on what product you are on and this changes frequently... m doing on both and getting good response.. and will soon run EXPERIMENTAL PPC on few others too...

well for Google only then when you have long term plans to stick to them, because its all the game of click through ratio in G where as in yahoo through money and you can get the top rank anytime. strategies come to play when you go for G.

For the product I promote Yahoo is a lot less competitive. The price which puts me in 9th position on Google is good for 3rd in Yahoo using exactly the same ad. And obviously the CTR is much larger.

It's early days, but profitabilty seems much the same.
