On my Google toolbar DP is PR6, I know it was PR7 a week ago or so.
Anyone knows if there was a PR update? I don't see changes on my websites.

Regards!

My toolbar also shows PR6.

I think they just keep messing around with the PR values, a lot of sites are constantly changing.

I've seen quite a few pr 6s drop down to 5s. It seems to be these mid-high pr value sites that are losing out to smaller ones.

So if DP had a PR1 you wouldnt show up here or comment anymore?

Nothing personal but who gives a flying F*** about PR?

Yeah, that is why my profile PR has dropped to PR3. Hopefully, DP will get PR7 in the next update :)

Well, I wouldn't mind if the DP's PR had recently dropped, as DP will remain as one of the top forum in the world!

Its one example of PR and importance. Do you think DP is not as valuable anymore because the forums dropped one PR point?

even if PR went down for DP i wouldnt say it is not as valuable as before.. for it still getting a lot of traffic... PR is just mainly PR.. this is still the most popular forum ever..

I think that google purposely has removed the PR from the profile pages so that
the PR pimps cant get anything out of it. when i checked my profile at sitepoint
its a pr5 where as here its greyed out... but like i said above ,..who cares?

I have to disagree. PR might not be the only tool to calculate a site's value but it definetely contributes to its success, overall value and future so is quite important.

Yes, DP is still valuable even if it is PR0 now but will there any DP at all if google assigned PR0 to dp in all its history?

Most of its members (who produce the content) comes from google and if google didn't send enough traffic here in the history, there wouldn't be members, hence content, hence DP as you know it. (unless its staff produces 10.000.000 posts themselves and able to bring 150.000 UV everyday without SE results)

So PR might not tell how your site is valuable now but it is definetely one of the most important factors for your site which also tells how much value it will have in the future.
