A chart or estimate on how the page views decline as the search results pages go further down?

For instance I type in "cats" in google....

Page 1, results 1 - 10 lets say is 100% viewed
11-20 70% viewed etc
21-30 30%

Does anyone know of a chart?:), or a good guess:D

I'm willing to bet it depends on the target audience and the relevancy of the results in the first place.

The searchers are often looking for only one thing in particular. If the first result or three on Page 1 gives them what they want, you'll be hard pressed getting them to search for others.

I'm seeing a trend where the current issues with Google are seeing more second and third page visits from searchers.

Good idea to create some useful script. Infact I could see some patterns on this area. I don't have any proofs for this.

The higher the ranking of the page, the higher the traffic. ofcourse every body knows this. Dont stare at me. I am coming to the point.

There are a few locations where there is good conversion. I mean the conversion need not actually drain our bandwidth limit. A well converting site will typically be in some range which is not always at the top.

This could be just a feeling of mine. But believe me, I have really seen such patterns(though I don't have the patience & time to sit back & calculate the real impact).

I've seen charts like that before. As long as I remember and I think that only 10% of searchers go after 10th result and just 3% look at 3th page and after.
I personaly have 100 results by default, but I'm professional user. Most amateurs don't change default "10 results by page".

I read somewhere that even there are huge different on traffic between ranking #1 and #2. I tried to search for that piece of information, but couldn't find it.
