Hi, recently i got a message from Google that they have sent me a PIN number - to my home addres (it was like 3-4 weeks after creating my account in Google)

They sent me this a little more than 1 week ago, but im not in US so its probably normal that i didnt get it yet, but my question is - will i have to wait for a next "sending checks period" time or will they send me my check immediatly after i enter their pin? (theoretically they should already )

Are you in UPS club?

it seemed like an English shortcut, but it might be not i guess.. it says PIN on this page (page is in Polish), also we refer in our language to PIN as to for example 4 digit number which is needed for bank machines.

Im not sure how is it called in English, but im sure they asked me to type in the few-digits code, so they can validate my address. I didnt get it yet, but they also say that they sent it to my addres.

Im not in UPS club, can i be if im outside US? Well anyways even if i can, i dont earn so much.

i dont worry about it itself, but my payment was not approved, probably becouse of that - so i wonder, if i type it in, will they send me a check immediatly or wait to next "sending checks time", which means probably late march

I don't think they will change their finance schedule just because you updated your pin...

You will need to wait untill the next payment date

I wonder why they waited for a month before sending me this PIN. i hope they will not ban me 1 day before end of the March.

And PIN is an English word (shortcut or something) which means Personal Identification Number.

PIN is for international publisher. This is to verify if the your address is correct. You must enter the PIN before you can receive checks.

I wonder what will happen if i generate another PIN to send me, and then the old one will come ;) will it work? hehe... im asking becouse it already almost 2 week from the date they sent it to me, and still nothing in my mailbox.

What do you think - how long it can take to travel to Europe ?

I would send an email to google asking them to clarify the whole PIN process. Im sure they will help you settle the issue.

im afraid i already sent them like 4 emails, i got 2 responses from automat and thats all (i suppose the 2 others were not about common topic so thats why no auto-response)

And since waiting time for response is from 8 days (it was for me at least) to.. well... for those other too its almost 3 weeks now - and i dont know how much longer, so dont think it will help

thats why im asking you for any experience-sharing about this topic :)

I got a PIN request yesterday and I'm in the US - a business (commercial space) that I've been in for 15 years.. This must be a new policy.

they send out a PIN to all new accounts... started doing this about a month ago I believe... nothing to do with international accounts... everyone gets one that sets up an account now... it is for address verification and security measures...

Good explanation. Google just wants to verify the addrese, which seems kinda stupid considering they already ask for SSN.

yes, i read on local forums that somebody recieved his PIN already, but it was sent long time ago and it took like 18 days to come! so quite a long time. It takes around 7 days for a check to travel here. (im from Poland)

I registered last november, been getting paid, and no pin so I guess it is just for new users.

Before i was disabled they requested pin from me too.

As for outside U.S. the mail is taking forever to get to Europe especially Easter Europe. My familiy sends packages to Germany and Yugoslavia and generally they take 12-25 Days. But we had some packages especially after Sept 11, 2001 that never left U.S. They just stayed in Washington D.C.

If you Dont receive it by day 20, i would request another pin. As it was mentioned earlier it is to verify the addresss, especially on the sites that is not purely for North American Audience.

Disabled...what happened? INvalid clicks?

cafedelbalkan
Mar 7th 2005, 12:09 pm
I think so, i wasnt clicking on the ads, but i was always using the google search box that they provided. So instead of going to Google.com, i was searching the web from my own website. Thats what i can think of... But they said fradulent clicks.

you don't make money from searching, you only make money if someone clicks on an ad on the search results page. i doubt that's what did it....

cafedelbalkan
Mar 7th 2005, 3:49 pm
I didn't have any ads on my pages, it was not in English so I didn't put the ads on there. They say it was fradulent clicks. It doesnt really matter I am still begginer at all this so hopefully I'll have time to learn...

Allthough i do remember clicking on Video Professor Links few times (paid ads), but i ordered their software.

:D Nah, it was for my dad I was too lazy to go over it with him from the beggining. Especially since English is our Second Language. Anyways he likes the Video Professor.

But I am begginer at the Web Programming.

i just got my PIN number :) it was sent 22.02 and recieved by me on 08.03

BUT i discovered hidden true about sending date ;) becouse i have changed my addres a little on around 26-28.02 and this PIN came addresed on NEW addres format, not on old one, so it had to be sent after 26-28.02 :)

So thats the explanation why it takes so long for a PIN to travel - at least compared to check - they send it a little later than they say they do.
