How good are .info domains. Will that affect my competence with .com domains

I am panning open my website for students loan consolidation.
How ever I am planning to buy a .info website. All my competitors are having .com domains. will this push me down how much ever work I do?

Watched a video from Jeff Johnson (a Stomper bonus) yesterday and he says they're ok and I guess he should know. Anyway I intend to start using .info as well as .com.

i believe its ok as long as search engine is concern. human wise would think .com is their preferred TLD.

it all depends on how your build your site and links. .info domain can be on the top of serp if you played the link building game wisely.

You could really wind up regretting sinking money into a .info at a premium above reg fee if you can't get the .com for a subject matter like that, unless perhaps it's studentloanconsolidation.info itself.
