I saw a suggestion to use blog reviews as a means of getting back links from blogs with pr from 0 to 5, although the cost is rather daunting. I know what many believe about paid links. Has anyone used payperpost, sponsored reviews or any of the other sites that will give you a link or two in the review? Have any of you had any success or problems with using any of these providers?

Blog reviews are GREAT well we call them contextual links, but we deal with one of the finest quality networks out there. Well that's what people tell us anyways and I would have to agree.
They are very effective for long-term sustainability.

richromo, you will find some good blogpost offer here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
It's a very nice way to get quality in-content links from genuine sites.
I would avoid payperpost, etc. because they leave too much footprint ;)

I think it depends on your niche as far as if you should pay for a blog review. I think some niches it will really help jumpstart your website but for others it will prove to be next to worthless.

Blog reviews are simply "reviews" of a product or a service that a blogger places in his/her blog with text links back to your site. The reviews are on the bloggers blog. They are quite common but not particularly obvious which is one of the most endearing aspects of them. Hope this helps.

Yea, but you want to try to stay away from ones that have disclosures :).

To be quite honest with you, you would be a lot better of by testing them your self. You won't get much valuable advice here. Now don't take me the wrong way you will get a Yes or No and I'm not saying that people on here do not know what their talking about by any means.
What I am telling you though that you would be a lot better off testing them on your own and seeing how they work for you.

Blog reviews really work for me..
A good source of deep links..
Social bookmarking sites are more effective in backlinking though.

I've used this and alot of article submissions, but I'm never sure which one is the one that is helping my keywords move up. CAn anyone tell me which is better, blog reviews or article submissions. Blog reviews tend to be much more expensive.
Thanks

I like blog reviews. I do it just as much for the traffic as the link benefit, though. I select blogs based on traffic rather than PR or such.

Are these visible and detectable by search engines?

How about something that not expensive(inexpensive) and lots of people can afford due to the way the economy is now heading?
