Today I opened Name.com and written :
"Name.com is currently experiencing connectivity issues with various registries. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Please try again later or contact us at support@name.com. "
I'm afraid Name.com was injected by trojan/virus, yesterday I git this report on my Norton AntiVirus
Attempted Intrusion "HTTP XMLHTTP SetRequestHeader Exec" against your machine was detected and blocked.
Intruder: www.name.com(4.79.81.165)(http(80)).
Risk Level: High.
Protocol: TCP.
Attacked IP: MANIK(XXX.XXX.XXX.XX).
Attacked Port: 4293.

Be careful!

Oh man. How many years did this name.com exist? I wonder sometimes if I really need to change name services.

They changed their site around and it all seems to be ajax based now or something like that. I imagine it's taking a lot more server resources than previously and they were expecting it. I notice their site slow a lot lately.

Hi All,
It appears this problem is still affecting name.com. My Norton Internet Security is seeing name.com as a threat.

Norton [insert any product] = fail
You might want to use firefox with noscript plugin just to be safe.

Heh, I'm right there with you. I had some real headaches with Norton a while ago, and I swore that I'd never use their products again.

good to hear this doens't seem to be an issue now; i feel better about transferring my domains to them now. They seem to have the best renewal rates and good reputation. Now that yahoo charges $34.95 to renew for each year i needed to find a better cost effective registrar
