New $75 banner and logo contest for 10,000 uniques per day site

I tried a contest recently and it was really disappointing.

No one apparently read my detail requirements.

When I picked a winner, they were banned by the site and when they contacted me outside of this forum, I tried to work with them to finish the banner and they couldn't provide me with a basic 3d font for the domain but some monstrosity that I could not even barely read. I am done with them. They did not fulfil their part of the deal.

So I am posting again and hoping to get better replies. I am hoping that a larger amount will entice more entries.

The new contest is for $75 and will go until October 2, 2008 and I can choose a winner at any time to work with to finalize the logo and banner and make payement and delivery.

The site gets close to 10,000 visitors per day and many tens of thousands of page views between the two domains that it will appear on.

Here are the specs from the original contest modified slightly for hopeful clarification of needs.

Need 468x60 banner to replace banner at http://www.voicesnet.com.

- Need to include domain VoicesNet.com (I like caps on V and N please)

- want VoicesNet.com in main larger print
- want Voices in light pastel shade of blue from site
- want Net is light pastel shade of yellow
- want .com to be in basic white
- must have 3d effect with lighting/shading

- prior selectee had large V like shape as logo with star like effect

- want social media web 2.0 look/ colors in logo
- terms listed on banner should be

- this should be in white and smaller of course than domain name

Tightwad so far although I do not get the letters in the logo being chopped off in appearance, maybe that can be different. I was hoping for some more 3d but you are closing in on the web 2.0 a little and your image considered placement on the site well.

Chelsea, I have to have a logo too and I like the domain colors but they need some effect in shading or something - or the 3d I mentioned in specs.

Jesica, the 3d would have to be popping out and not in and the logo you used is too simple for my tastes.

mnuismnu - that is very appealing, "contest info" should "contests" and "info" separately in small text, You are in lead or close to lead. can you make the NET gold color to more of a pastel light shaded color. microphone can be more Gold so that both NET and microphone are same color. Just not sure about microphone icon.

campolar, that is very appealing, the".com" would need to come down for me; I am going to say that I am not wanting the VN as the logo for you and others; maybe just something with the V or some other creative logo like some of the other submissions but I do like the colors and the logo background sheathe, that is nice, maybe some other logo in that background would work better.

Grouse - nice lettering but I am going to have to say no to the blinking aspect although it is cool and I could see using it eelsewhere on site, also need a creative logo different than VN, that is current look on site, want away from that although some bursting V was appealing at one time.

tsoft, great logo - can i see a version of that with smaller text, maybe diff font and in different color than other colors already used, not blue. Also can I see a version like others where text is all along the bottom - i like that you went on the side because I was thinking if that would be better. I don;t know about the .com but am thinking about it although it is growing on me. You are in lead or close to lead.

chlopzmazur - I need a creative logo that you come up with - the lettering and letter colors are appealing

I am stopping this contest as of now and announcing a winner.

But first, some final comments on recent posts:

mnuismnu - all of your submissions were awesome and were right there. I hope that you can work on some of our other backlogged art work. Ultimately the microphone was determined to not be representative of our community because they are more of the written word, not verbal, at least right now, even though VOICES is in our name which might insinuate verbal. Thanks so much for your time from an appreciative and respectful American. :)

Grouse - this was a good submission but we did not get the icon part and what that represented. Thanks for this great submission though because it look real cool.

fiona45in - that is some great work also - I am not really sure why I am not picking yours; my partner was not into the megaphone but that to me is very creative to me and I like the whole thing. Can I but that for $15 with a couple of slight changes also even though someone else is being picked as the winner. Can you PM me if interested?

pat3ck - this was very nice and we appreciate your profesisonal looking submission. The lettering is very nice.

The winning submission met these needs:
(1) logo part is web 2.0 in look and image just works
(2) color scheme on domain name works including shading (being adjusted some)
(3) vertical .com works great in overall look that adds flair
(4) text features look great to right stacked and don't look like menu items to be clicked
(5) banner helps enforce proper structure of confusing domain name due to NET being in domain, not to left of the dot as the domain type.

TSOFT is making some final adjustments and has sent me the paypal information to send the $75 contest prize to which I will do promptly.

I feel that many who entered this contest could have gotten me to a point where we had a live banner to place on the site. I was hesitant coming in but you have made this a great experience for me.
