125$ logo design for California related site

Hello guys,

I am working on my own person blog about California. I am a California fan myself and have been there several times already. I enjoy the mentality and the environment in California. Anyways, I am looking for a logo for my California related blog. (The URL is http://www.ca-blog.com)

There are many good designers here and I would love to work together with you. I know that it is difficult to design a logo. However, 125$ from me for the winner. Contests ends within 4 days. Please note that I can not tell everyone why I not chose him - however, I try to give as much feedback as possible :-). By now you should have noticed .... I am not really a skilled artist...

I am looking for the following in the logo:
- Authority (means that it should look unique and professional)
- Web 2.0 (I love it)
- something that reflects California/the south west (can be palms, or perhaps a pic of Grand Canyon. Anything goes :-) - you could make it look a bit like a comic, that way you reflect the web 2.0 spirit )
-(http://www.logoangel.com/images/corporate-entertainment-fun-play-game-logo.jpg - that one is pretty cool).

I think CA-Blog.com would be fine as text in the logo. However, I am open for suggestions. Perhaps without the .com... Also, if you like include a slogan, something like - home in beautiful California. Just be creative, that's what matters most about art :P.

If possible use a transparent background. If not possible then please use white or anything else that fits your logo. For more plus points, put your graphic into a vector format :-).

WoW. I am impressed. All of you guys did a good job and all the logos are really good :-). I am gonna post a little ranking here:

1: VictoriaAnn - very good job. I love the design, it looks very friendly and well made. I also like the slogan, however, it is a little hard to read :-). Perhaps you could work on that :-). Is the image transparent? Thank you!

2: katesrobyn - Very nice design. However, I don't really like the sunglasses as they make it hart to see through. Also the CA-Blog is a little hard to read :-). Your Web 2.0 city is very good, perhaps you could insert some sort of sun (California is the sun state)

3: Ladybugz - Yours is also nice. However, I must say I like the others a little more. What I really like about yours is the writing with the palms on top.

4: simplyg123 - Yours is also very cool, however I prefer the others for now. Thanks a lot :-).

Hi and thanks for coming back to us quickly.

It's not a problem to fix the slogan text I can make it stand out some more - I have just made it slightly larger here but can change colour, depth or style if you think it necessary. The logo has a transparent background, demonstrated below!

Hi,

All I have done here is alter the slogan slightly to make it stronger - I haven't touched the rest of the logo as you seemed to like it as it is. Is that good with you?

Kate, it is certainly a lot better than your previous attempt. Your Web 2.0 town is in fact awesome. It looks very nice. You could improve the font a little ^^. did you draw the town by hand? I love it :P.

What would you guys think about adding a small picture of Grand Canyon? The website is about california and the national parks of the south west :-). Just an idea, perhaps that could look nice in your logo :-). Submissions are accepted till 12 AM DP forum time.
