View Full Version : Review of new CLICKBANK product sales page

Hello everyone.

I have created a website to sell my Word Search Puzzle ebook. It's designed in Clickbank pitch page style with scrolling and and minimum links. I'm trying to get a reader hooked on the product with the sales page so they purchase the product.

I've worked hard to create the product. So far, the product sales have been okay, but I'd appreciate any suggestions you have to increase conversion.

I'd love suggestions to fine-tune the wording, design, or layout. I'm NOT a big fan of opt-in email newsletters, so don't suggest adding one of those.

Thanks in advance for any reviews, suggestions, tips, comments, or thoughts.

- FB

P.S. +1 rep for truly helpful advice. :D

P.P.S. I forgot to post the site. It's Word Search Puzzles (http://www.superwordsearchpuzzles.com) .

Not bad at all.

I kind of like the design and the color scheme goes well.

The only thing I can see that I dont like is at the bottom, you can scroll down farther than the screen goes. Im not sure what causes this, but it just seems a little odd.

well I like the site and its a good unique idea.

- I do not like the theme, I think the site would look better if you
used a more original theme.

- There is too much space at the bottom of the page, you should
remove some of it.

- It would be good if you had some testimonials from some satisfied
customers.

Seanyboyyo-- Thanks for the reply. As promised, +1 rep to you. I wasn't sure what was causing the extra space at the bottom either... I spend a little while trying to figure it out and I discovered it was.... my google analytics code at the bottom. It made it kind of screwy when I copy/pasted it in. I think I got it fixed now.

Kingofsanda-- Thank you for the review! I do have a testimonials section for my other ebook about teaching jobs (http://www.iwantateachingjob.com/testimonials), but since this book is new I haven't had anyone email me with positive comments yet. I'll definitely take your advice and add a testimonials section once a few people email me with some kind words. :)

I fixed the scrolling problem on the bottom. (I think.) As for the theme-- I'd like to know what kind of a theme you recommend. Is the layout awkward or is it the graphics that need work, in your opinion? +rep for you too, Kingofsanda! I appreciate your input.

If anyone else wants to chime in with opinions, I'd appreciate it. :D

The green color was a bit "provoking" for my eyes and I lost the "picture" pretty fast. :-)

Datarond-- I think you're saying the background is distracting? I'll remove it, change it, or tweak it tomorrow and see what I can do to improve it. +rep. Thanks.

Get rid of the Home | Affiliates | Contact which comes right after the dotted lines. I see you have one placed better at the bottom.

Yeah, something about that green. It blends in, but just too much.

Maybe it needs a lighter green? I don't know. Just don't over do it.

Excellent...I was looking at it 5 minutes ago and you must have been working on it so I had to retract everything I typed. The background looks great now. The layout looks professional and well thought out. Loads well in both firefox and IE. I couldn't even find a simple typo. Nice job.

+ rep for Business and SiteShrine.

Business-- I made the Home | Affiliates | Contact change you mentioned. Thanks.

SiteSHrine -- Thanks for the kind words.

I'm still working on the background. Struggling with it, actually.

I have three versions-- any preferences? Other ideas?

original word search background (http://www.superwordsearchpuzzles.com/)

plain green background (http://www.superwordsearchpuzzles.com/test.html)

gray background (http://www.superwordsearchpuzzles.com/test2.html)

Thanks everyone... these reviews are really helping.

I thought the background you had looked good. It contrasted well with your graphics. I personally don't like green but with the circles in it it did not come across to obnoxious, it was mild in tone so didn't "blind" you. I cannot see the gray as of yet but may seem ordinary and the plain green is just that...plain.

Yep Gray is too plain. I agree that the background you had went well with imaging on page. I would say the plain green looks good and clean as well. Seems toned down from before but may be my eyes playing tricks on me.
Overall it looks good with any of the backgrounds.

On the about page you have a couple typos "It seems all my searchs would trun up were word" I know thats not what you're asking for but I know I am always glad when someone points out simple errors like that to me. It's easy to miss them.

Thanks again for the input kate, bizbotic! +rep

SiteShrine-- Thanks for continuing to follow the thread. The type-ohs on the "about page" are embarrassing. I'll certainly fix them tonight. I appreciate you bringing them to my attention.

i think you need to give it that web 2 gooey look

Web 2.0 "look" is crisp clean layout with rounded corners, partial screen instead of full width, and out of the box colors. I would say it fits within the realm of web2.0.
Actual Web 2.0 is use of mash-ups and api to populate a site with content from other sites. To spread content throughout the web in a viral fashion by allowing others to use your content via rss feeds and widgets. It also includes the once believe "social" trend in which people have gathered on social networks to exchange information in a collective manner. It also includes more user interaction on sites versus just text driven content for informational purposes.

You might change you puzzle image to be just the puzzle and make the text next to it to be static text for purposes of SEO. Not a huge deal but everything the search engines can pick up the better.
Add alt tags to all your images as well...and use them for the purpose of being found...
