I just wanted to share this news with all friends here, I got my first google adsense checque of $557 :) isnt that cool, ? yeah atleast for me, since I am beginner with it, I wont share my site but I have a web design related website with tutorials and stuff like that..

what I have seen, its all about traffic, if you have more traffic, you can earn more. now my website's rank is around 55000 on alexa, guess what others would be making whose rank ranging from 10-1000.. so lets put some quality content and increase our traffic.. the hidden secret.. not hidden though :)

Silent its not quite right because our alexa rank is 106000 and still we never reach $$$ per month as like you. Content and traffic is more important. Best of luck for $$$$ target. ;)

Congrats for your first check...I feel envious...since I dont have a full fledged website to begin with...no time in the past, too much work...:eek:

But now...since I'm actively looking to start a site, any advice on whats a good host? Host are dime a dozen but...a good host is really hard to find...one that will support heavy php scripting...and forums...you know.

Am looking to do a directory site....but cant settle for a host because its like marriage...get it right or face tons of headache...:D

Have looked at Hostgator...they seem to have the best reviews but their TOS is ...wow...soooo strict and seems they can and will bump you off without thorough checking or warning...not like as if I'm a spammer...:mad:

Lunarpages got some funny thing like...must reach 90% of space allotment before they grant you more...after you write to them and gotten their approval...hmmph...why dont they say they dont have enough space to start with??

And Dreamhost got some wierd 60 minutes requirement...?? Including lots of downtime....

well true.
finding host is always a headhache, but what I prefer is I always use hosts that are in my own city, why ? becuase I can directly reach their offfices and yell out if there was somethig wrong :d ha. so I would suggest this, most of the hosting companies are like 1 man show, they help when they are not in bed :D, I do have a 1 man hosting company but I will not suggest that becuase I dont have time to handle it..

what I would do to find a host is goto webhostingtalk and see the offers, then search about their reputation on google and WHT, then contact them before signing up, if their support is quick and friendly, then I would sign..
