500 unique visitor, it's good or poor?

I don't know is this good or poor for a website.
statistic of one of my site is :
594 unique visitors - 857 visits in september
496 unique visitors - 736 visits in august

This number is taken from my server statistic..

Its depends on the website's niche, for some websites 500 unique visitors a day is an achievement while for others its considered normal or low.

To answer your question bluebenz it depends on the site. But you had a good increase of traffic this month if you keep it up you will reach good traffic in no time.

That's pretty low compared to what some folks get.

Its about what I get on some of my 6 month old sites.

Like someone else said, keep working on it, adding content, and slowly growing your site. I think it takes about five years to get a site really kicking major traffic and thus dollars.

If you are getting about 23-25 uv a day i would say that is possible on the low side,you dont say if this a new site or not so i guess it hard to give a true verdict.

I am really not sure about my statistic, or, I don't know how to read my statistics.
it's still september, but 732 uv - 1292 visitor.
average visit per day : 53.83, but 1st-3rd september more than 100 visits, after that 30-40 visits a day.

later on when your site is grown up you might have that or more per hour

cheating by artificially increase traffic numbers is NO means to success - thats the way global industry leaning companies got into bankruptcy these last weeks and months.

The best way to build traffic to your site is inbound links from high page ranked sites.

Directories are a good place to start.

500 per month is very very poor.

I just had a look at Google Analytics and noted that one of my sites got 159,000 uniques in the last 30 days. Yes it is 3 years old, but in month 1 I got 2200 uniques, month2 3000 etc - keep going and keep growing and in year or so you will get sucess.

I would concentrate on your growth. Starting out is always going to be difficult, but if you continue to trend upwards you'll eventually get to that 500 uv per day or you'll know that you need to adjust your site.

Ensure that you know if you are counting bots with your UV counts. Most web log analyzers will not filter out bots. Using a web tracker will give you accuare values. It's really difficult to compare UV counts when the basis for each could be different. (bot traffic <> human traffic)

500 a day, means about 15000 a month. so say that even if each users comes back twice a day (not likely but still) then you have 30,000 hits and each user gets 5 PV (AGAIN not likely but lets assume that this is the case) then you get 150,000 PV. dont think thats anything special.

You can not categorize the number of visitors as good or bad..the main thing is how classified visitors those are..whether they are really interested in your services or not..if you are getting per day 10000 traffic but none of them is interested in your services, then how good that traffic would be??

It all depends on what type of website you have. Traffic is difficult to interpret, unique is sometimes not as important as return visitors....
