View Full Version : Getting the colors right with Adsense

I just added Adsense to my site and would like some advice on colors for my Adsense ads. Should I make them blend in to look more natural, as if if they were index items. Or should I keep the colors slightly different so they stand out on my page? I've done the latter thus far and no hits:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I have always found that making them seem like part of the natural site navigation worked the best. It could be, however, related to the industry that I am in. The less like an add it looks, the better unless you offer a service where the adds are really going to provide nice relative alternatives.

Play around with it...

its best to make them blend to avoid "banner blindness" seasoned web users are almost immune to attention grabbing ads.

In my experience the background color should be exactly the same as your own site background.. regarding the text color, again it is best to keep the title color the same as your own navigational links. The more the user is given the impression that the ads are being presented by you and not a third person, the more they are likely to click.

Blending is best in most cases.

I wouldn't expect too many clicks on a blog site. I put them on mine, but i doubt many people are there searching for stuff, other then reading.
