Interesting read. Gbuy is coming and Paypal is watching that is what it means. At the end it is good for the consumers.

I think gbuy will be the real product which may compete with paypal - google checkout doesn't seem to be a complete product by google in the ecomm arena

I think the real benefit from using google checkout is if you combine it with adsense since you "earn" money for transaction costs, this will be hard for paypal to compete with.
