Can we read log files easily?

Although log files provide important information regarding the search engine spiders, errors, and other info, but is there any way by which we can read the log files in a formatted way.

Is there any such program or method by which we can make the log file more readable and easy to catch the info that we are looking in it?

What service are you using? AWstats seems to be the most popular.
What format are you looking for? Excel?

Iam just looking at the log files available on the server i.e. in text (.txt) format, I want to keep track of error recordings and other information in a formatted way. Currently it is very difficult to look for specific information in these files
