View Full Version : Proxy Breaking my VPS, Not Enough RAM?

Hi guys,

I have had continual problems with my host since I signed up with them. My proxy sites go down pretty much every single day. There is not way I can market it at this rate. My host suggests I upgrade to a pricer package.

I am currently paying $40/month and getting 250MB RAM and up to 1GB burstable. I also only got about 100 page impressions (home page only so that equals to about at most 20 users--5 ad spots on home page). Anyway, I think my hosting company is being dishonest. There is no real way I believe 20, or even 100 users a week is causing my site to die. They want me to upgrade to a $70/month plan which offers twice the RAM.

What do you guys think of this whole thing?

(I use PHProxy, if that helps.)

Thanks in advanced!

If your host is not giving you what it is being promised in its business homepage, then it'd be a wise decision to move to another host, otherwise you'd suffer for the rest of your days working with a disrespectful webhost. You may consider Knownhost.com (http://www.knownhost.com), which is expert on VPS.

For 100 Pageviews daily, even Shared Proxy hosting would do.

Did you check your bandwidth usage ?
